Looking for a place to sharpen your skills, enjoy great company, and be part of a strong shooting community? Our local gun club has something for everyone.

With four skeet and trap fields, plus a dedicated pistol range and rifle range, members have plenty of space to practice and improve. Whether you're fine-tuning your swing on the skeet field, dialing in your trap consistency, or working on precision at the rifle or pistol range, our facilities support shooters of all experience levels.

We're a volunteer-run club with a proud membership base, built on camaraderie, safety, and a shared passion for the shooting sports. While practice is at the heart of what we do, we're also proud to host a variety of competitive and community events throughout the year.

Signature events and programs include:
• The Kolar/Newark Open Skeet Tournament
• NYS High School clay target league (skeet/trap)
• The Snowball Skeet League
• The Finger Lakes Skeet League

From youth development programs to competitive tournaments and leagues, our club is committed to growing the sport and supporting shooters at every level.

If you're looking for a welcoming, active club where you can practice regularly, compete locally, and be part of something bigger, we'd love to have you join us. Come see what makes our club a great place to shoot.

The Terry & Beth Johnson Youth Shooting Fund

The fund at the Newark Rod & Gun Club was started in January 2020 with the generous donation of a K80 skeet gun complete with sub-gauge tubes and a case by Beth Johnson.

Beth did so, as a way to honor her late husband Terry and as a means for the club to promote and support youth clay target shooting at the club.

The fund has been perpetuated by the donations of many club members, families and friends of some of those members we have sadly lost who have donated in their memories. The club also sells empty shotgun hulls for reloading to support this fund as well.

All youth members (21 years of age & under) of the club enjoy shooting skeet and trap at half of our normal price per round as the fund subsidizes the difference. The fund also subsidizes the cost of rounds and shotshells for the NYS Clay Target League that shoots at the club each spring and fall (currently with participants from the Newark, Mid-Lakes and Pal-Mac schools).

All youth members may also participate in any or all, of the travelling skeet leagues that the club is a part of. These are the Finger-Lakes, Snowball & 4 County leagues. The fund reimburses youth members for the entire cost incurred in these leagues (entry fees & shotshells).

We, at the Newark Rod & Gun Club are very appreciative of Beth’s and everyone else’s generosity in support of the “Terry & Beth Johnson Youth Fund” and hope to continue supporting and promoting youth clay target shooting for years to come!

Club Rules & Guidelines

01. SAFETY FIRST

02. Safety equipment

When you are shooting, you must always wear eye & ear protection.

03. Watch for farmer and background

Always stop shooting when the farmer or others are in the background. A stray round could cost the club. You may be asked to leave and could have your membership revoked if you choose not to do so.
